The Women’s Committee of Kew Golf Club, led by president Anne English, supported the NFP charity “Urban Lifesavers: No more deaths from sudden cardiac arrest” in 2017 and raised $11,000 for the provision of automated external defibrillator packages plus training to five community groups in the City of Boroondara.
A presentation of the AEDs was made to the community groups on Wednesday 13 December 2017 at Kew Golf Club in Melbourne.
The successful groups were:
- Balwyn Community Centre
- Bowen Street Community Centre
- Surrey Hills Neighbourhood Centre
- Canterbury Tennis Club
- Hawthorn Citizens Youth Centre
Urban Lifesavers and Kew Golf Club are proud of this initiative to create an opportunity for increased awareness in the wider community of sudden cardiac arrest and the why, when & how to apply a defibrillator.
You never know – it could be life of someone you love that is saved.
Urban Lifesavers is a not-for-profit registered charity established to raise awareness about the lifesaving importance of early defibrillation and the role played by bystanders who can be Urban Lifesavers.
The vision of Urban Lifesavers is ‘No more deaths from cardiac arrest’.
